This paper provides firstly a summary of the initial impacts of the coalescing of the further education and skills, higher education, research and innovation portfolios.
Secondly, alternative options for meeting the above challenges are explored through a brief comparison of governance and structures across comparable economies and their impact on supporting research, innovation and a flexible education and training system.
