Improve your job opportunities with Skills to Compete courses

If you have lost your job or want to improve your skills, Skills to Compete offers free reskilling and retraining courses. These courses focus on improving your employability and ability to compete for jobs.

Courses include tailored advice and support. They focus on:

• skills development to help employability
• building the digital skills now needed for almost every job
• courses aimed at growing sectors and jobs
• certificate courses, from level 4 to level 6 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ)

Education and training boards deliver the courses nationwide. There are online, full-time and part-time courses available.

• you usually don't need formal education or qualifications
• you must be over 18 to apply

These courses are paid for by the government and free of charge.
