Jillian van Turnhout is a consultant providing governance, executive selection and advocacy services to companies and not-for-profit organisations.
Jillian is a certified Director with the INSEAD International Directors Programme (IDP-C) and has also attained the Institute of Directors Certificate in Company Direction.
Jillian is a former independent Senator and is recognised for her work to improve outcomes for children and young people.
Jillian is a Director of the Board of the Arts Council of Ireland; Vice-Chair (Director) of European Movement Ireland; Trustee (Director) of One in Four and Trustee (Director) of Early Childhood Ireland. She is a former Vice President of the EU Advisory body, the European Economic and Social Committee; former Chair, of Early Childhood Ireland; former Chief Executive of the Children’s Rights Alliance; former Chief Commissioner of the Irish Girl Guides; and former President of the National Youth Council of Ireland.
Jillian is a co-founder of the European Youth Forum. Jillian has been awarded the Chevalier de l'Ordre National du Mérite by the President of France.
In 2018, she was bestowed with an Honorary Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland in recognition of her “significant contribution to children's health and wellbeing, nationally and internationally.”
