Clostridium difficile

The new National Clinical Guideline No. 30 Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) was published on 11 May 2023. Please note that the Infection Prevention and Control guidance in NCEC NCG No. 3, Surveillance, Diagnosis and Management of Clostridium difficile Infection in Ireland has been replaced by National Clinical Guideline No. 30.

Thank you for your interest in National Clinical Guideline No. 3, Surveillance, Diagnosis and Management of Clostridium difficile Infection in Ireland. All pathogen specific guidance remains valid within this National Clinical Guideline. A mapping exercise will be carried out to ensure guidance that is not replaced by the new NCG No. 30 Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) continues to be available to healthcare professionals and the public as appropriate.
