Expression of Interest Appointment to the Disabled Drivers Medical Board of Appeal

The Minister for Health and the Minister for Finance invite expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced medical practitioners interested in being appointed as a member of the Disabled Drivers Medical Board of Appeal. The closing date for applications is Tuesday 5th July, 2022.
The Board determines appeals by applicants to the Revenue Commissioners’ Disabled Drivers and Disabled Passengers (Tax Concessions) Scheme, who have been refused a Primary Medical Certificate by the Health Service Executive. The Disabled Drivers & Disabled Passengers Scheme provides relief from VRT and VAT on the purchase and use of an adapted car, as well as an exemption from motor tax and an annual fuel grant.
The National Rehabilitation Hospital, Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin, has hosted the Board since 2000, as it provides the appropriate clinical setting.
