Appointment to the Medical Council - 22 November 2023

Following a nomination from the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI), the Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has appointed Dr Morgan Crowe to the Board of the Medical Council with effect from 13 November 2023 until 31 May 2026.

Dr Morgan Crowe graduated in medicine from University College, Dublin in 1974.

Following hospital posts in Dublin, he trained in General and Geriatric Medicine at the John Radcliffe Hospital and University of Oxford, UK. In 1987, he was appointed Consultant Physician in General and Geriatric Medicine at St. Vincent’s University Hospital and St Columcilles Hospital, Loughlinstown which also included duties in St Colman’s Hospital, Rathdrum and the Royal Hospital, Donnybrook. Following retirement from St Vincent’s in 2015, he returned to Oxford for a four-month sabbatical at the Department of Neuroscience. Since then, he has held consultation physician posts at Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross, and the Royal Hospital Donnybrook where he continues to work in an honorary capacity. He also participates in the undergraduate teaching programme for UCD medical students and is an examiner in the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians Clinical Examination.
