Reappointment to the Tallaght Hospital Board - 15 January 2024

On the nomination of the President of the hospital, the Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has reappointed the following as a member of the Tallaght Hospital Board from 6 January 2024 until 5 January 2027.

Dr Vivienne Byers is currently a research project manager with a start-up company Cubbie - exploring the application of Personalised Sensory Regulation (PSR) for people with autism and sensory needs. She has held several research management posts with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) in the HRB Centre for Primary Care Research as well as Senior Research Fellow in Health Policy at the Environmental Sustainability & Health Institute (ESHI-TU Dublin). In her previous position as Vice Dean of Postgraduate Studies & Research, she led and managed the postgraduate and research portfolio (School of Business, National College of Ireland). She researches healthcare and public sector policy and has extensive experience as a lecturer and in academic administration for over 20 years at the Technological University Dublin, as well as associate lecturer with University College Dublin, Trinity College Dublin, and the Institute of Public Administration. Dr Byers's current research activity in health policy and leadership is developed through her affiliate roles with TU Dublin, the University of Gothenburg, and the University of Malta, as well as via EU and national research funding. She is also a non-executive director of the Bolton Trust and an external examiner on healthcare programmes with the Institute of Public Administration.
