Reappointments of Chairperson and members to the board of the NTPF - 16 July 2024

The Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has reappointed the following members to the board of the National Treatment Purchase Fund.


Mr Don Gallagher

Don Gallagher was appointed Chairperson on 2 July 2021. He is currently a Board Member of the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman Council and Chair of the Finance Committee. Don is the former Chief Executive of the Health Insurance Authority and former Senior Vice-President and Managing Director of Canada Life Financial Corporation’s operations in Canada and Ireland/Germany and later CEO of MetLife Europe.

Mr Gallagher is reappointed Chairperson for the period 15 May 2024 until 23 March 2027.


Mr Dónall Curtin

Dónall Curtin was appointed to the NTPF Board on 24 March 2021. He is an experienced accountant, board director and business leader with background in Finance, Corporate Governance, Audit and Risk Management and with extensive experience in both the public and private sectors. Dónall’s board directorships include Green Effects Investments plc, Fáilte Ireland, Office of Government Procurement, Irish College Leuven, Pallas Projects, etc. He also founded one of Ireland’s leading accountancy practices.

Mr Curtin is reappointed for the period 24 March 2024 to 23 March 2027.


Ms Sarah Johnson

Sarah Johnson was appointed to the NTPF Board on 3 June 2021. Sarah is a solicitor by profession and former partner in a Dublin law firm specialising in public contracts and procurement, she advised clients on their statutory functions and related legal and regulatory issues, particularly in the health sector.

Ms Johnson is reappointed for the period 3 June 2024 to 2 June 2027.
