Reappointments to the Health Insurance Authority (HIA) - 2 July 2024

The Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has, with the consent of the Minister for Public Expenditure, NDP Delivery and Reform, reappointed the following members to the board of the Health Insurance Authority with effect from 24 June 2024 until 23 June 2027.
Caroline Barlow
Caroline is a senior actuary with over 34 years’ experience in a wide variety of general insurance roles at both UK and European level, serving as the Head of Actuarial Function for a major International Insurance Company. Caroline’s professional career has given her a deep understanding of the insurance business and the associated risks.
Michael A. O’Sullivan
Michael spent his executive career in Bord Gais Éireann in a number of senior positions including Managing Director of Network Services. Michael is a former Chair of the Mercy University Hospital where he also chaired the Finance Committee and served on the Major Infrastructure Committee. He has formerly chaired the Audit and Risk Committee in both Firmus Energy Northern Ireland and Eirgrid. Michael is a Chartered Management Accountant and has a BE Civil degree and an MBA from UCC.
