Interim update report on the Inpatient Day Case Action Plan 2018

The Department of Health, the Health Service Executive (HSE) and the National Treatment Purchase Fund (NTPF) published details of the Inpatient/Day Case (IPDC) Action Plan 2018 on 12th April.
The NTPF, today, (17th August 2018) published the Interim Update of progress against the targets set out in this Plan.
Over the past year, the total number of patients waiting for an Inpatient or Day Case procedure has reduced by 9,955 since peaking at the end of July 2017 to 76,156 at the end of July 2018. This reduction is most apparent in the number waiting more than 9 months, which has reduced by 7,715 in the same period.

In the first 7 months of 2018 12,008 people on the Inpatient / Day case waiting list have accepted NTPF offers of treatment and the number of people on the Active Waiting List has reduced.
