Palliative Care For Children With Life-Limiting Conditions In Ireland - A National Policy

Having regards to:

• the best interests of children with life-limiting conditions and their families
• relevant national and international research, analysis and standards
• the Report of the National Advisory Committee on Palliative Care (Department of Health and Children, 2001)
• the paediatric palliative care needs assessment ( Department of Health and Children, 2005), and the palliative care requirements of children with malignant or non-malignant diseases
• the newly developed systems and structures under the Health Service Executive (HSE)
