Primary Care Centres Progress Report

Expanding Community and Primary Care is at the heart of the government's Sláintecare vision. The starting point for service delivery in the sector is the Primary Care Team (PCT), consisting of general practice, public health nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech and language therapy.

This progress report provides an update on the provision of Primary Care Centres around the country, and looks at the future direction of Primary Care services in Ireland.

Department of Health’s Progress Report on Primary Care Centres
There are now 127 operational Primary Care Centres around the country, and a further 11 are scheduled to be completed or become operational by the end of the year. Beyond this, there is a pipeline of more than 70 Primary Care Centre projects that are under construction, in development or are at the planning stage.
