Assistant Secretary, Corporate Affairs

Responsibility at Assistant Secretary level for leading the Corporate Affairs Division. Corporate Affairs Division has policy responsibility for Medico-Legal matters, Drugs Policy & Social Inclusion, Communications and Departmental Governance and Risk arrangements. It also provides support to the wider Department, including legal advice, corporate legislation, agency oversight, internal ICT, data protection support, and corporate services. Internal Audit Unit is positioned within the Division for administrative purposes. However, the Head of the Internal Audit has a direct reporting line to the Secretary General to ensure the independence of the function.

David is also a member of the Management Board and chairs the Management Board sub-committee for Corporate Governance. He also represents the Department on a number of bodies, including membership of the Board of the Institute of Public Administration, the SCA Advisory Committee and the Procurement Reform Board.
