Chief Dental Officer with responsibility for: Providing ongoing population health, professional support and clinical oversight to the Minister and Department in discharging its oral health policymaking role; Clinical assurance, keeping abreast of best international practice and commissioning research and evidence is her remit. Implementing and monitoring in relation to the WHO Global Oral Health Action Plan and roadmapping, other Euro WHO and EU plans and legislation is part of her role, including the phase down of mercury, including working with NI in this regard. working with EU oral health agencies including the Council of European Chief Dental Officers, and Platform for Better Oral Health in Europe. Advising on regulatory reform advising the Department and other agencies as appropriate on fluorides and health; developing a surveillance framework and a research agenda for oral health. Establishing and providing clinical oversight and input to support delivery of National Oral Health Policy.
