Principal Officer, Community, Pharmacy, Dental, Optical and Aural Policy

Responsibility at Principal level for developing and overseeing implementation of policy in the following areas: Supply, Pricing and Reimbursement of Medicines; the Community Drug Schemes, including the General Medical Services Scheme, the Drugs Payment Scheme, and the Long Term Illness Scheme; International Cooperation on the Supply and Pricing of Medicines; Community Audiology Services; Community Optical Services; Contractual terms for Health Service Contractors, including Pharmacists and Optometrists; and policy in relation to Aids and Appliances.
