Responsibility at Principal Officer level for the coordination, monitoring and reporting on the Department’s Corporate Legislation Programme. Management of the ‘Navigating the Legislative Process’ resource to provide detailed information on every step of the legislative process with comprehensive guidance and advice as required.
Linda represents the department on the network to embed the application of the SME test as well as reporting on SME tests for primary and secondary legislation and engagement with Department of the Taoiseach to report on upcoming pre legislative scrutiny requests. Coordination of the Department of Health’s input into the review of the National LGBTI+ strategy and the development of its successor. Engagement with the HSE to facilitate the development of a model of care and implementation plan for gender healthcare. Management of specific public inquiries under the remit of the Department including the development of a Departmental framework for inquiries. Development of a Vaccine damage scheme. Responsibility for litigation relating to Mother and Baby Homes, as well as oversight of broader litigation activities. Coordination with other Divisions in the Department regarding the implementation of the Action Plan for Survivors and Former Residents of Mother and Baby and County Home Institutions and Departmental representation on the Implementation Steering Group. Development of a model for the tracking of litigation involving the department.
