Principal Officer, Statistics and Analytics Service

Responsibility at Principal Level to contribute to Ireland's health information system developing in line with the needs of the public, health and social care professionals, researchers and policy makers, and that account is taken of developments at international levels. Providing a statistical and analytical service to support the Department’s monitoring, evaluation, policy development and planning roles through improved availability, use and visualisation of data facilitating data-driven decision-making. Providing technical and statistical guidance to support Departmental work, the work of the wider health information system and developments at international level. Communicating health data widely to reach multiple audiences including the public, researchers and public health professionals, and in particular increasing the publication of open data by the Department.
