Elizabeth Cosgrave has responsibility at Head of Business Unit level for the Strategic and Business Support Unit. Supporting the Accounting Officer, including responsibility for the management and oversight of statutory and corporate governance compliance on behalf of the department. This also includes Freedom of Information, strategic planning, Irish translations, procurement, protected disclosures, and data protection. Corporate compliance in the form of annual reports, strategic plans, and transfer of functions is also managed by this HoBU. Responsibility for the risk management framework, and the oversight and implementation of the Business Continuity Management Framework for the department is also under this role. This Head of Business Unit is the nominated Procurement Officer, Designated Person for Protected Disclosures and Risk Officer for the department, as well as being line manager to the nominated Irish Language Officer, AIE Officer and FOI Officer. There is a continual duty in the performance of continued cross department co-ordinations, which generate from internal and other department stakeholder requests for example Performance Metrics and Programme for Government Reporting. This unit has a remit covering all areas of the department, apart from Met Éireann.
