A Road Map for the First Revision of the National Planning Framework

The Government has approved the commencement of the process to revise the National Planning Framework (NPF) and publish the Roadmap for this First Revision. This follows the decision by Government to proceed with undertaking a revision of the NPF, as provided for in the Planning and Development Act, 2000 and to publish the Roadmap, which outlines the process and timeline for the revision.

The Road Map:

• gives an outline of the process and the intention of the revision to the NPF
• has been prepared to inform all interested parties of the revision
• outlines the background to the process and the timeframes for each stage of the revision
• confirms the consultation processes involved in the revision.
