Local Authority Home Loan Mortgage Payment Break - COVID-19 Emergency

Borrowers who have a mortgage from their local authority have been given the option of a third mortgage payment break bringing the total of the three mortgage payment breaks up to a maximum of nine months if they have suffered, or are likely to suffer, an income reduction due to the COVID-19 emergency that affects their ability to pay their mortgage. As they are not charged interest for the period of the break, the total amount of interest they pay over the lifetime of their mortgage will not increase.
