59,989 homes commenced on a rolling 12-month basis (April 2024 to March 2025), up 60% from the previous 12 months (where 37,441 homes commenced).

Of the 2,918 homes commenced in the first quarter of 2025 (Jan-March) 36% were in the four Dublin local authorities.

By Local authority, the most units commenced this year so far have been in Dublin City (937), followed by Meath (245) and Kildare (228).
