This document is an update to Part 1 of Ireland’s Marine Strategy: Assessment (Article 8), Determination of Good Environmental Status (Article 9) and Environmental Targets (Article 10) under the Marine Strategy Framework Directive.
It contains summaries of the assessments, determination of GES and revised environmental targets for each of the 11 qualitative descriptors from Annex I of the Directive. It also contains a socio-economic assessment. The appendix to the document contains the detailed assessment sheets for the descriptors and criteria.
The update has been informed by the feedback received from the public consultation held from December 2019-February 2020.
