Necessary conservation measures at Slyne Head Peninsula SAC – Determination on Screening for Appropriate Assessment

Protection and recovery of coastal foredune vegetation through the strategic use of exclosures and sand fencing within the Slyne Head Peninsula Special Area of Conservation. Temporary electric predator proof fencing will also be erected to protect ground nesting waders and bird species considered to be an intrinsic component of the Machair habitat.

The proposed necessary conservation measures are part of LIFE on Machair, a six-year European Union funded project running from 2022 to 2028.
