OPR Section 31AN(4) Recommendation to the Minister – County Donegal Development Plan 2024-2030

On 2 September 2024, the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage received a recommendation from the Office of the Planning Regulator pursuant to section 31AN(4) of the Planning and Development Act, 2000 (‘the Act’) which recommends, for stated reasons, that the Minister issue a Direction to Donegal County Council under section 31 of the Act in relation to the County Donegal Development Plan 2024-2030.

The recommended Direction proposes that the Minister direct Donegal County Council to take 22 specified measures in respect of the Development Plan for 10 stated reasons.

Notice is hereby given that:

• having regard to the nature and number of amendments recommended to be directed, the giving of the Direction to the planning authority would require the making of a material alteration to the County Donegal Development Plan 2024-2030;
• the Minister’s decision under section 31AN(4A) of the Act shall be subject to section 31AN(16).
