Regulatory Impact Analysis (RIA) - Planning and Development (Amendment) (LSRD) Bill 2021

The following policy options have been considered in relation to the Planning and Development (Amendment) (LSRD) Bill 2021:

No change option

Allow the current Strategic Housing Development (SHD) arrangements to lapse. Applications to revert to the standard section 34 planning procedures in the Planning and Development Act 2000-2021.

Development of new legislative proposals

Allow the current SHD arrangements to lapse. Develop new legislative requirements for the submission of Large Scale Residential Development (LSRD) planning applications to local planning authorities.
