Rhododendron control as part of necessary conservation measures within the Oldhead Wood SAC. The Invasive non-native Rhododendron ponticum stands have been shown to reduce biodiversity, extirpate native species, prevent woodland regeneration and be a host to the important plant pathogen Phytophthora ramorum.
