Buying a local authority house or apartment

Different schemes have been developed to enable local authorities sell their houses or apartments to those who meet certain eligibility criteria.
Currently there are three schemes in operation:
- an Incremental Tenant Purchase Scheme for existing local authority houses
- a Tenant Purchase of Apartments Scheme
- an Incremental Tenant Purchase Scheme for newly built houses
The financing of the purchase of a house or apartment under the three schemes is a matter for the purchaser.
