Statement from Minister O’Callaghan on CSO Recorded Crime Statistics 2025

The publication of the Recorded Crime Statistics for 2025 by the Central Statistics Office provides an important analysis of crime trends across the country.

New EU legislation concerning legal requests from law enforcement authorities.

The amendments will strengthen Ireland’s ability to identify criminals and terrorists operating within the EU and travelling to and from Ireland by air.

Operation Encompass will provide for information sharing between An Garda SĂ­ochĂ¡na and school authorities to strengthen protections for children impacted by violence in the home.
