Statement of Strategy 2025-2028

Our Statement of Strategy 2025–2028 sets out the Department’s vision and priorities for the coming years.

This document reflects our continued commitment to delivering better public services, improving living standards, and enhancing infrastructure for the people of Ireland.

It outlines our mission, values, and the behaviours we aim to embody as a Department. Central to the strategy are three strategic goals that will guide our work:

Enhancing Governance

We will promote effective corporate governance and accountability frameworks, reinforce transparency through open government initiatives, and ensure fiscal prudence in managing public expenditure and pay policies.

Building Capacity

We aim to enable a high-performing and inclusive workforce through progressive HR policies, upskilling opportunities, and reform initiatives. This includes apprenticeships, internships, and returnships to build capability across the Public Service.

Delivering Effectively

We will leverage our mandates in public expenditure, infrastructure, reform, and digitalisation to meet the evolving needs of society. This includes supporting climate action, driving digital transformation through initiatives like the Government Digital Wallet, and enhancing value for money in public investment.

These goals are supported by a wide range of actions that reflect our commitment to innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
