Chief Medical Officer for the Civil and Public Service

The Chief Medical Officer is responsible for providing cost-effective occupational health advice to Civil Service & Prison service. This includes:

• Advice on medical fitness for work

• Early workplace rehabilitation of sick employees

• Ill Health Retirement & Critical Illness Pay Applications

• Providing workplace health screening and workplace vaccinations in conjunction with the State Claims Agency

• Policy advice/input on all work and health issues for the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform and the wider Public Service
