Public Expenditure Strategy
This year it is estimated that an additional amount of almost €16¾ billion will be provided in
2020 for measures to support the delivery of key public services and to provide support to
workers, businesses and communities who have been devastated by the impact of the
pandemic.

Forecasting Jobseeker Numbers and Expenditure 2021
For 2020, the annual average LR figure is estimated to be 212,667, with expenditure estimated at €2,072m. The actual number of persons expected to be on the LR at end 2020 is expected between 226,000 and 229,000.
