Responsibility at Assistant Secretary level for the oversight of the funding of climate action, capital investment policies and the Department’s climate research and evaluation. The Division also advises the Minister and Government on the public expenditure implications of climate action commitments.
The Head of the Climate Division drives the implementation of the National Development Plan in the context of Project Ireland 2040 and has responsibility at Assistant Secretary level for the management of the following Votes:
- Transport;
- Agriculture, Fisheries and the Marine;
- OPW;
- Communications
- Climate and the Environment; and
- Foreign Affairs and Overseas Development.
