National Countryside Recreation

The aim of this policy is to develop countryside recreation in line with the National Countryside Recreational Strategy which was developed by Comhairle na Tuaithe (The Countryside Council).
This also includes the Walks Scheme, which is a maintenance-based scheme providing small payments to landowners who maintain sections of National Way Marked Ways and priority walks that cross their lands.
