Alan McGrath

Alan McGrath is Director of Funding, Strategy and Performance Alignment in SOLAS.

SOLAS is the state agency responsible for Further Education and Training (FET) in Ireland. Alan is a member of the senior leadership team in SOLAS and plays a leadership role in developing the national FET strategy; oversees the education and training performance of the FET system and is the lead on external engagement with stakeholders.

Previously Alan was Director of Apprenticeship in SOLAS. Before joining SOLAS, Alan worked in the Higher Education Authority (HEA) for a number of years in the areas of access to education, skills policy, labour market activation and enterprise engagement.

Alan is also currently a member of the Management Board of CEDEFOP (European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training) as Ireland’s government representative.
