Minister Calleary encourages people seeking career opportunities to visit Carlow Work and Skills Event

The Minister for Social Protection Dara Calleary encourages people seeking a new job opportunity or looking to upskill to attend the Intreo Work and Skills recruitment and training event taking place at the Seven Oaks Hotel, Carlow on 3 April from 10am to 1pm.

Intreo Work and Skills events provide jobseekers with an opportunity to connect with employers who are actively recruiting. Jobseekers can also learn about the training options available, and avail of job seeking advice to help them take the next step in their career. It is recommended that jobseekers bring along several copies of their CV to apply for roles they are interested in.

Employers attending looking to meet potential future employees include Veolia Ireland Ltd, NUA Manufacturing, Murray Timber Group, Woodford Dolmen Hotel and the Defence Forces Ireland among many others. Some of the roles on offer include positions in hospitality, retail and construction, and jobs for mechanical and electrical technicians, mechanical and design engineers, quality controller and operative opportunities.

To help achieve career goals, several education providers will be on-site to advise on upskilling and retraining options.

Commenting on the events Minister Calleary said:

“This Work and Skills event provides an important platform to bring employers together with people who are actively seeking job opportunities across the country, as well as highlighting the range of training options currently available.

“Whatever your career choice, these events can help you to achieve your goals.

“Our teams will also be onsite to provide information on the department’s supports and services, including financial supports, and to offer guidance on job searching.

“Through providing supports on interview preparation and CV techniques, linking you directly with employers or providing you with access to training to gain new skills, we’re here to support you each step of the way.”

Information on the full range of events open to the public and how to register to attend is available at www.gov.ie/WorkandSkills.
