The Minister for Social Protection Dara Calleary today encouraged jobseekers in the Midlands to visit the recruitment events taking place as part of the Intreo Work and Skills initiative in Roscommon and Westmeath.
The work and skills events provide jobseekers with an opportunity to connect with employers who are actively recruiting. Jobseekers can also learn about the training options available, and avail of job seeking advice to help them take the next step in their career.
On 2 April, a Transport and Logistics Careers Fair is taking place in the Athlone Training Centre, Garrycastle, Athlone from 10am to 1pm.
Employers who will be attending the Transport and Logistics Careers Fair include DPD, An Post, and Musgraves. These employers are looking to meet with people interested in a career as operatives, drivers and HGV Mechanics as well as offering roles for Apprentice Mechanics.
Also taking place on 2 April is a Career Expo at the Kilbride Community Centre, Roscommon from 11am to 2pm. Employers are looking for employees to fill roles across a range of sectors. There will also be educational providers on site offering advice on training options and educational supports.
Commenting on the events Minister Dara Calleary said:
“I encourage anyone seeking a new career or looking to upskill or retrain to attend the events to learn about the jobs on offer, and to explore the many training options available to help you achieve your goals.
“Whatever your career choice, these events can help you to achieve your goals.
“Our teams will also be onsite to provide information on the department’s supports and services, and to offer guidance on job searching.”
