Minister Calleary launches Intreo Work and Skills Events

  • Work and Skills events taking place from 26 March to 11 April
  • over 50 events nationwide focusing on careers and training
  • wide range of opportunities across many sectors

The Minister for Social Protection Dara Calleary has today announced details of the Intreo Work and Skills events which are taking place across the country from 26 March to 11 April.

Over 50 events are taking place nationwide with a huge range of opportunities in a range of sectors including financial services, transport and logistics, hospitality, healthcare, retail and many more.

The work and skills events provide jobseekers with an opportunity to connect with employers who are actively recruiting. Jobseekers also have the opportunity to learn about the training options available, and avail of job seeking advice to help them take the next step in their career.

Commenting on the events, Minister Calleary said:

“The Work and Skills events provide an important platform to bring employers together with people who are actively seeking job opportunities across the country, as well as highlighting the range of training options currently available.

“These events also offer an opportunity for people to find out more about the extensive supports and services that are available from my department to both employers and jobseekers.

“Employers from a wide variety of industry sectors are recruiting at our Work and Skills events and those attending an event will have an ideal opportunity to meet directly with employers and learn more about the roles on offer.”


Key events this week

Shannon Work and Skills Recruitment Fair

In Clare, a work and skills event will take place in collaboration with the Shannon Chamber of Commerce in the Shannon Industrial Estate, Building 7000, West Park Innovation Campus on 26 March from 10am to 1pm. Local employers including AXA Insurance, EI Electronics, Shannon Precision, Element Six, Biotouch, ESB, Ebay and EMG Energy Consultants will be looking to meet with prospective new employees.

Blanchardstown Multi Sector Recruitment Event

On Thursday 27 March, a multi sector recruitment fair will be held in Blanchardstown Centre. Recruitment teams from AIB, Bon Secours and BMC Manufacturing Ltd will be in attendance with many other employers looking to meet with people seeking job opportunities.

Some of the jobs on offer include roles in healthcare, customer support, finance, security, hospitality and positions for operatives and electricians.

For those looking to learn new skills to help them access new career choices, the City of Dublin ETB and the National Learning Network will be among those on site providing information on a range of training options available. Over 55 employers and training providers will attend the event which takes place from 10am to 2pm.

This event has a proven track record of securing jobs for customers and visitors to Blanchardstown Centre across a wide range of sectors. We wish all participating employers and future employees a hugely successful day on Thursday.”

Other events taking place this week include the Hodson Bay Recruitment Event on 26 March, in the Hodson Bay Hotel, Athlone and an Apprenticeship Expo at the Knightsbrook Hotel, in Trim on 27 March.
