Assistant Secretary, Human Resources

Geraldine Hurley is Assistant Secretary with responsibility for Human Resources. This includes:

  • HR Strategy and Performance
  • HR Workforce Planning
  • Staff Development
  • Industrial Relations
  • Staff Engagement and Innovation
  • Provision of advice to the department on its obligations under the relevant data protection legislation
  • Overseeing the Legal Affairs Unit – with legal advisors providing legal advice to the department on all aspects of social protection legislation
  • Co-ordinating the department’s input into EU and international matters, including as alternative member of the Employment and Social Affairs Council
