Assistant Secretary, Information Services

The department is critically reliant on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to deliver services and issue social welfare payments. The Chief Information Officer (CIO)/ Assistant Secretary General has responsibility for the provision of secure, reliable and quality information and communications technology services.

The role also involves leading and supporting the department’s digital transformation objectives and achieving greater efficiencies and effectiveness in the delivery of these schemes and services to our staff and customers.

This includes responsibility for:

  • systems development projects and procurement frameworks
  • enterprise architecture, business intelligence and business object modelling
  • information security, networks and infrastructure
  • digital services platforms and employment supports
  • project management office and business change
  • service delivery group
  • data centre operations and modernisation, workplace services, ICT training and software licencing
