Claiming an EU Pension


If you are Residing in Ireland

If you are living in the Republic of Ireland, and wish to claim your EU pension from another EEA country you may do so through the Department of Social Protection.

If you are 65 years of age or over, you should use form SPC1. If you are under 65 years of age, or over 66 years of age and already in receipt of a State pension from Ireland, you should complete form EUP 65 and return to the address below.

Applicants should ensure that they complete forms fully, giving details of their employment history, both in Ireland and abroad, insofar as possible.

People Residing outside Ireland

If you live outside the Republic of Ireland, in an EEA Country, you should apply for an EU Pension to the pension institution in your country of residence, in accordance with the procedures of that institution.

If you do not live in an EEA country, you must apply for an EU Pension to the pension institution in the EEA country in which you were last insurably employed.
