The EU and International Energy and EU Presidency Preparation Division supports the work of the Minister in development and strategic management of the government's portfolio of work relating to international energy policy. This includes responsibility for inter alia, governance of Ireland's EU energy policy, international (non-EU) energy policy and interaction with and active participation in, bodies such as the IEA, IRENA and G20, to which Ireland is an observer in 2025/26. The Division is also responsible for preparation across the DECC functions for Ireland's EU Presidency in 2026.
