Consultation overview
The aim of this consultation is to gather stakeholder feedback on the next Statement of Strategy for the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications.
Background
The Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications is preparing its Statement of Strategy to cover the period 2025 – 2028, in accordance with the Public Service Management Act 1997. The work of our department is centred around the thematic areas of climate action and environment, protecting our natural resources, and energy including security, sustainability, competitiveness and affordability.
Commitments contained in the Programme for Government, the Climate Action Plan, the National Development Plan, and other relevant policies will inform the development of our Statement of Strategy.
As part of the development process, you are invited to express your views which may further inform the development of our next Statement of Strategy. Our current Statement of Strategy, Le Chéile '25, can be found on the department's website for your information.
How to make a submission
The closing date for submissions is 5.30pm Friday, 11 April 2025.

The department will carefully consider all comments and suggestions received and will publish a consultation response. Given the expected volume and the variety of comments, the department does not intend to respond to individual submissions but will group responses and provide an overall response to each consultation topic.
