Language Scheme 2018-2021: Request for Submissions

Consultation is closed

The Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment is preparing an Irish language Scheme in accordance with Section 11 of the Official Languages Act 2003. It is proposed that this Scheme will run for three years from March 2018.

The primary objective of the Official Languages Act is to ensure better availability and a higher standard of public services through Irish. It is anticipated that the new Scheme will build on and consolidate the progress made by the Department over the past number of years in delivering services through Irish.

Representations in relation to the preparation of a new scheme were sought by the Department from all interested parties.

This public consultation primarily took the form of an online survey, though it was also possible to make a written submission by post or email.

This consultation closed at 5pm, Friday 2 March 2018
