Public consultation following the publication of Ireland’s Long-Term Renovation Strategy 2020

Consultation is closed

Ireland has published its Long-Term Renovation Strategy 2020 and submitted it to the European Commission as required under the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (2018/844/EU) (Recast).

The Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications (DECC) is now seeking inputs on the Long-Term Renovation Strategy (LTRS) to inform future policy development.

Consultation Outcome

A total of 20 submissions were received from stakeholders across a wide range of organisations and the general public. Responses are being reviewed and analysed from the perspective of residential, public and commercial sector policy areas within the Department.

The responses to this consultation will also be considered in the formation of the next LTRS and future policy development, in line with the Programme for Government, Ireland’s Climate Action Plan, and the National Energy and Climate Plan.
