The Chief Technology Officer for Communications has responsibility for leading the Strategy Development and Business Management Division. The division is responsible for:
- Market surveillance of fixed and mobile network rollouts and development of policies to address identified issues
- Development and oversight of strategies to deliver the department’s Digital Connectivity targets, including international subsea telecoms cable developments
- Engaging proactively with EU and international radio spectrum policy development forums.
- Supporting the adoption of new and emerging connectivity technologies to ensure that Ireland is positioned to take advantage of key connectivity technology advances
- Supporting other Communications divisions with technical advice
