It is with great sadness that I learned of the death of Justin Kilcullen.
Justin was a good man who dedicated his life to doing good things.
For more than 30 years he was at the helm of Trócaire and worked from the ground up on its missions in some of the world’s poorest countries with communities struggling to overcome poverty and oppression.
The Irish people have always been very proud of the work of Trócaire and that is in no small part down to the leadership of Justin.
He fought for the dignity of every human being and never stopped striving for a more just world. He influenced Irish thinking and ultimately Irish Government policy through countless hours of advocacy and engagement and through dedicated service on the hunger task force.
To Justin’s wife Róisín, daughter Ruth and sons Eoin and Michael, I am so sorry for your loss.
Through Justin Kilcullen’s kind heart and passionate work, he left our world a better place. There can be no greater legacy.
May he rest in peace.
