Statement from Taoiseach Simon Harris on the outcome of the UK General Election

Taoiseach Simon Harris has sent his warmest congratulations to Keir Starmer on his victory in the UK general election.
The Taoiseach said:
“Keir Starmer has brought the Labour Party a comprehensive victory. I congratulate him and his candidates and I look forward to working together as close neighbours and friends.
“The relationship between Ireland and the UK is deeply consequential for all people across these islands. Keir Starmer and I share a desire for it to go from strength to strength in the years ahead.
“I look forward to early engagement with the incoming Prime Minister, and to a mutually beneficial and productive relationship between us.
