Taoiseach congratulates incoming Mayor of Limerick on his election

Taoiseach Simon Harris today spoke to the Mayor-elect of Limerick, John Moran.

They discussed the historical significance of Limerick being the first place in Ireland to directly elect a Mayor with executive powers.

Simon Harris congratulated John Moran on winning the election and noted the number of excellent candidates who had put themselves forward for the first contest for the office.

The Taoiseach pledged his support in making the new post work and delivering for the people of Limerick City and County.

The Mayor-elect gave an overview of his priorities.

The Taoiseach agreed to stay in close contact and they both agreed to meet in person in the near future.
