Taoiseach welcomes Croatian Prime Minister to Dublin

The Taoiseach will today welcome the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenković, to Dublin for high-level discussions on significant European issues of common interest.
The meeting takes place ahead of the next European Political Community and European Council meetings in Granada and Brussels in a few weeks' time.
The Taoiseach and Mr. Plenković will discuss Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the cost-of-living crisis and energy prices, and the future enlargement of the European Union.
The Taoiseach will also brief Prime Minister Plenković on EU-UK matters and on political developments in Northern Ireland.
Speaking ahead of the visit, the Taoiseach said:
“I greatly look forward to welcoming my colleague Prime Minister Plenković to Dublin as Ireland marks its 50th year of EU membership and Croatia its 10th year.
“Ireland and Croatia have been transformed by EU membership, and both strongly support offering the same opportunities to countries now looking to join, including Ukraine and the countries of the Western Balkans.
“Ireland and Croatia are strong allies and relations between us have never been stronger. I look forward to that continuing in the months and years ahead.”
