Pope Francis will be the chief celebrant at the closing Mass for the World Meeting of Families in Phoenix Park on Sunday, 26 August, at 3pm.

There will be hundreds of thousands of people from across Ireland and abroad attending. For your safety and comfort, it is essential that you are aware of the following before committing to attending this Mass.

Getting around Dublin if you are not attending
Dublin city will be open for business on Saturday and Sunday, 25-26 August. However, this is a major event and there will be significant diversions and restrictions throughout the city on these days. There is some more information on diversions here and all will be published on Dublin City Council website.

Driving in Dublin city
If you are planning on using your car to access the city centre on Sunday, 26 August, then you should be aware that there will be diversions/ road closures and other restrictions in place on the day. You will need to leave plenty of time for any journeys to and across Dublin city from 6am to 11pm on Sunday, 26 August, and pay attention to restrictions in place on the day.

For local residents and businesses in and near Phoenix Park
The event will have an impact on local residents and businesses. We are aiming to ensure that any disruption to businesses and individuals is minimised as much as possible.
To assist, a Business and Community liaison team have been put in place by the Office of Public Works.
You should all receive a package of information in the post that will outline the potential road closures, traffic diversions as well as some helpful advice on access during this weekend.
